Castle, a projected first-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft out of UConn, has been telling teams he wants to play as a point guard at the NBA level, according to
Tom Orsborn of The San Antonio Express-News. "I feel my true position is point guard, and I feel the last few months I had to sacrifice for the betterment of the team," Castle said. "It worked out for us, so it's not anything to harp on or be bitter about."
ANALYSIS
Castle is a 6-foot-6 guard with a 6-foot-9 wingspan, so he would bring plus size to the point guard position. Even though he's not much of a scorer, he's a capable passer with excellent vision, and those traits are severely lacking on a Spurs roster that has only Tre Jones as a true point guard heading into the 2024-25 campaign. San Antonio has the fourth and eighth overall picks in the upcoming draft.
