2024 Fantasy Outlook
Toro was dealt to Milwaukee last winter but played in just nine big-league games during 2023, though he took advantage of those opportunities by going 8-for-18 with two homers. The 28-year-old was then traded to the A's in November, which provides an immediate boost to his outlook for playing time in 2024. Toro also had a strong campaign at the Triple-A level last year with a .291/.374/.471 slash line and 10 home runs in 96 games. He has a .636 OPS in 271 big-league games during his career and isn't guaranteed playing time in Oakland, so a wait-and-see approach is likely appropriate rather than risking draft capital outside of a late-round dart throw. Goes deep in loss
Toro went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Mariners.
ANALYSIS
Toro launched his fourth home run of the year to begin the sixth off Luis Castillo. It's a continuation of what's been a ridiculously hot stretch at the plate for Toro. Over his last 16 games, the 27-year-old is slashing .410/.455/.607 with two homers, nine RBI and 12 runs scored. He has led off in six straight games, all against righties, and has been more of a middle-of-the-order hitter against southpaws. For the season, Toro is now slashing .299/.351/.460 with 13 extra-base hits, 17 RBI, 20 runs and a 7:26 BB:K in 148 plate appearances.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could soon be sent down
Willy Adames may return from the 7-day concussion injured list Thursday, per Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, which could result in Toro being sent back to Triple-A Nashville.
ANALYSIS
Toro has just five plate appearances since being called up by Milwaukee on May 30, though he's starting at third base Tuesday versus Baltimore. The 26-year-old went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in his lone start prior to Tuesday, but playing time has been hard to come by, especially with Luis Urias now back from his hamstring injury. The Brewers are bound to demote an infielder when Adames is activated, with Toro, Andruw Monasterio and Brice Turang being the primary candidates.

Seattle had high hopes for Toro as they liked his approach from both sides of the plate as well as his defensive versatility. Things did not go as planned. Toro was limited to only 109 games after an early season IL stint and spending most of August with Triple-A Tacoma. Toro's maintained a high contact rate, but a 14th percentile average exit velocity and 5th percentile Hard Hit rate hindered production. A 46% flyball rate was wasted with only an 8.3% HR/FB mark. All those flyballs staying in the yard resulted in a .198 BABIP. The Mariners shipped Toro to Milwaukee where he'll be in the second base mix with Owen Miller and Brice Turang. However, Toro is likely ticketed for utility duty with minimal fantasy appeal unless he can get back to driving the ball, though American Family Field is much better power venue than T-Mobile Park.
