2024 Fantasy Outlook
A 24-year-old lefty, Parker has been a notable prospect in a shallow Nationals farm system for a couple years, but poor control and middling stuff limited his realistic upside. Parker primarily operates with a 92-mph four-seamer with solid movement and an 80-mph curveball while also mixing in a mid-80s splitter. He walked between 11.1 and 15.4 percent of batters from 2022 through 2023 while pitching in the mid-to-upper minors, and he doesn't have the pure stuff to have success with that many free passes, but only issued one walk in his first two starts of 2024, with one of those coming against the Dodgers' big-league lineup. Assuming Parker spends a good chunk of 2024 in the big-league rotation, he could be a deep-league streamer in good matchups, but there's not much data to suggest he can maintain the success he's had early in the season. RANKSFrom Preseason
Excellent in no-decision
Parker allowed two runs on three hits and no walks while striking out two batters over seven innings in a no-decision against Atlanta on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Parker allowed just one hit through six scoreless frames before Atlanta got to him for a pair of runs on a single and a homer in the seventh. The rookie left-hander still managed to close out that frame to tie his longest outing of the season, but he had to settle for a no-decision. Parker has been remarkably consistent as a major-league pitcher thus far, allowing three or fewer runs in all 10 of his starts. He holds a 3.47 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 45:12 K:BB through 57 frames on the season.
