2023 Fantasy Outlook
Rising had surgery on his knee in the offseason, an injury that plagued him throughout the season and eventually knocked him out of the Rose Bowl. Although he hasn’t participated in any team activities yet, he’s expected to start under center for the Utes in his final season of eligibility. Rising leaves it all on the field and get knocked about quite a bit, so injuries are all always a concern for the scrappy quarterback, but he has an uncanny nose for the win column. Rising threw for 3.034 yards and 26 touchdowns in 2022, and with a mostly-intact supporting cast, Rising should see similar results if he can stay healthy. Read Past Outlooks

ANALYSIS
Rising, who missed the entire 2023 season with a knee injury, appears to be progressing through his recovery as expected. The 6-foot-2 senior, who threw for 3,034 yards (249-of-385), 26 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 2022, will look to lead the Utes under center again in 2024.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
It’s hard to look at Rising’s Rose Bowl performance against Ohio State and not see the beginnings of a breakout. Throwing for 214 yards and two touchdowns on 22 attempts and adding a rushing score is impressive. It’s important to not get caught up in one game, and it’s also important to note that Utah rarely throws more than 30 times in a game. In drafting Rising, you’re betting on high-efficiency passing to go with steady rushing production. The structure of the offense doesn’t give Rising massive upside, but he projects to be a consistent, startable QB2.
