Outside of a few bright spots, Sims was basically a non-factor during his rookie season, closing as the 281st-ranked player in standard leagues. The addition of Isaiah Roby only complicates things even more for Sims, something that could see him fall out of the rotation altogether. The Knicks are coming off a successful 2022-23 season and will be looking to build on that momentum. Head coach Tom Thibodeau is known for running a tight rotation at the best of times, even when his team is not competing. Barring a couple of injuries to other players, Sims is not worth drafting in most fantasy formats. Read Past Outlooks

Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary
Jericho Eduard Sims was born in October of 1998 in Minneapolis. He is the son of Charles and Kimberly Sims. Charles played basketball for the University of Minnesota. Jericho has five older brothers, four of whom played college sports. For prep school, the tall center attended Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Minneapolis and averaged 25 points and 10 rebounds per game his senior season. Sims then committed to the University of Texas, where he majored in African & African Diaspora Studies with a minor in Anthropology. At Texas, Sims was teammates with fellow NBA-big Mo Bamba. Sims played four seasons for the Longhorns. As a senior (2020-21), Sims posted 9.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. That summer Sims was picked by the New York Knicks with the 58th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. In early August the Knicks signed Sims to a two-way contract.
Rare appearance in loss
CNew York Knicks
May 18, 2024
Sims racked up one rebound, one assist and one block across four minutes during Friday's 116-103 loss to the Pacers in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
ANALYSIS Sims played four minutes of garbage time as the Knicks were soundly beaten by the Pacers. Though he is known for playing his stars heavy minutes, even in losses, common sense prevailed with Tom Thibodeau closing with his second unit. Despite another ankle injury to Mitchell Robinson, Sims has been unable to carve out a consistent role, something that doesn't bode well for his future when looking beyond this season.

Other teams showing interest?
CNew York Knicks
May 25, 2024
Teams around the league have expressed interest in trading for Sims if he becomes available during the offseason, Stefan Bondy of The New York Post writes.
ANALYSIS Sims struggled to see consistent minutes even when the Knicks roster was banged up, so it's hard to envision the big man having a prominent role in the frontcourt in 2024-25 and beyond. If there's trade interest for his services, the Knicks may be wise to explore potential offers for a player that's likely not going to play a big part in the team's immediate plans.
The No. 58 overall pick in this year's draft will fill one of the Knicks' two two-way spots in 2021-22, allowing him to freely move between the NBA team and New York's G League affiliate in Westchester throughout the season. With all of Mitchell Robinson, Nerlens Noel and Taj Gibson ahead of him on the depth chart at center, Sims likely won't have many opportunities to play meaningful minutes for the Knicks as a rookie.
