Suffers first UFC defeat
MiddleweightUFC
May 11, 2024
Ruziboev lost to Joaquin Buckley via unanimous decision (27-30, 26-30, 27-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in St. Louis.
ANALYSIS
This was the first time during Ruziboev's brief UFC run that we got a look at him against a quality opponent, and it didn't go great. The main reason for his struggles were the fact he couldn't defend a takedown over the course of the first ten minutes. He allowed Buckley to connect on both of his attempts in both Rounds 1 and 2, and that not only served to limit his chances to hurt Buckley with power shots, but also served to deplete Ruziboev's already questionable gas tank in the process. Toss in the fact this fight was taking place on Buckley's hometown of St. Louis, and Nursulton was up against it from the very start. Ruziboev won't be 31 years of age until mid-November, but he is already closing in on nearly 50 professional fights.

Scheduled for welterweight fight
MiddleweightUFC
April 24, 2024
Ruziboev is scheduled to compete against Joaquin Buckley in a welterweight fight at UFC St. Louis on May 11, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Ruziboev will move down a weight class from middleweight to fight a welterweight Buckley in his hometown. While the bout does impose high risk for the former, it is also a high reward. Buckley is No. 11 in the UFC's welterweight rankings, so Ruziboev defeating the American, in his hometown no less, would certainly get the ball rolling in terms of him entering one of the UFC's division standings.

Ruziboev defeated Sedriques Dumas via KO (punches) at 3:18 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Atlantic City.
ANALYSIS
Ruziboev has to worry about his win being changed to a no-contest upon a certain forthcoming appeal from Dumas and his team, but he again looked terrific for as long as the action lasted. Ruziboev was dominating the striking exchanges between the two, but it appeared as if a rake of the eyes led to the start of the sequence which resulted in the finish. For now, it goes in the record books as Ruziboev's second knockout victory in as many UFC bouts.
