Welcome to the Weekly Value Meter Rankings. This is a guide to help you decide who to start and sit in a given week. It's is not a season-long ranking nor a draft guide, and it's also not really intended as a free agent guide. While I appreciate that you want my opinion on pickups, every league is different, and your decision on whether to add/drop a particular player might also be dictated by other factors than who is rated higher in a given week.

Here are my operating assumptions for the rankings:

- The RB/WR/TE position rankings are for PPR leagues.
- The Flex rankings are for Standard leagues.
- 1 point per 10 rushing/receiving yards.
- 1 point per 20 passing yards.
- 4 points per passing touchdowns.

These are the rankings I use when I make my start/sit decisions. Please consult the rankings first before asking "Player X vs. Player Y?" without any other mitigating factors. Of course, I welcome debate - if you think I'm wrong, let me know. But please check out the rankings first before asking your start/sit question. This truly reflects my opinion in my leagues.

Starting after Week 1, the rankings for the subsequent week will first post on Tuesday nights, roughly around 10:00 pm PT. I will then do a set of updates before kickoff on Thursday, and again before kickoff on Sunday morning. I will post at the top of the article in bold font when ranking updates are in progress and when they're complete.

Stafford has been activated from the COVID-IR list on Saturday, still needs to be officially cleared on Sunday - but the presumption is that he'll play and not Daniel.*
30.	Cooper Rush DAL vs. PIT Note: It will either be Rush, who has been with the Cowboys before, or Garrett Gilbert starting this week. It'll be Gilbert getting the start.*
31.	Sam Darnold NYJ vs. NE Note: Needed an MRI for his shoulder after aggravating the injury against the Chiefs last week, but that MRI turned out well. Did not practice Thursday, and an MRI did not reveal any structural damage to his shoulder, but he still had soreness. Unable to practice Saturday and is listed as doubtful.*
32.	*Ben DiNucci DAL vs. PIT Note: Andy Dalton is out this week, but it might be Cooper Rush instead of DiNucci this week.
33.	*Gardner Minshew JAC vs. HOU Note: Ruled out for this week with multiple fractures and a sprained ligament in his thumb.

Reports on Sunday suggest that he could rotate series with Mike Davis, and that the Panthers would prefer for him not to get touches on consecutive plays - that seems too specific to release to the public, so I'm a little skeptical to the latter note.*

11.	*Clyde Edwards-Helaire KC vs. CAR Note: CEH split the workload with Bell fairly equally, and then both lost out on work due to the blowout nature of the game in the second half.

13.	Aaron Jones GB at SF Note: (Calf) Jones has been a limited participant in practice both Monday and Tuesday and will go down to the wire on Thursday as a game-time decision, with both A.J. Dillon and Jamaal Williams out due to the COVID list. The alternatives are Tyler Ervin and Dexter Williams. Trending towards playing but the Packers will be 'careful' with his calf injury.*
14.	J.K. Dobbins BAL at IND Note: Both Dobbins (113 yards on 15 carries) and Gus Edwards (87 yards on 16 carries) looked good against the Steelers, better than Mark Ingram (ankle) has looked earlier in the season. Ingram is listed as doubtful.*
15.	*Justin Jackson LAC vs. LV Note: Jackson was the primary ballcarrier for the Chargers against the Broncos but did lose some touches to Troymaine Pope.
16.	*Melvin Gordon DEN at ATL Note: Gordon got more work than Phillip Lindsay, but Lindsay was the more-effective runner.
17.	*Leonard Fournette TB vs. NO Note: Fournette dominated the snaps for the Bucs after Ronald Jones fumbled on the Bucs' second possession, getting 15 carries and six targets.
18.	*Jerick McKinnon SF vs. GB Note: McKinnon had more snaps than Tevin Coleman and JaMycal Hasty, but only three carries for a loss of one yard, but made up somewhat for that by catching four passes for 40 yards. It'll be just he and Hasty on Thursday, as Coleman has been ruled out.

20.	DeeJay Dallas SEA at BUF Note: Dallas dominated the snap share with both Carson and Hyde out last week - Travis Homer was barely used. I downgraded Dallas some - Homer doesn't have an injury designation this time around and once was ahead of him, plus the Seahawks activated Alex Collins from the practice squad, and I think he might get a few reps too.*
21.	Tony Pollard DAL vs. PIT Note: Might get more work this week with Zeke nursing a hamstring injury. The Cowboys are preparing to be without Elliott on Sunday. Rico Dowdle would be Pollard's backup in the event that Elliott is out. Ian Rapoport suggests that Elliott could play after all - if so, Pollard drops to 35 or so.**
22.	Phillip Lindsay DEN at ATL Note: (Foot) Limited practice Thursday, but he's expected to play. Limited practice Friday, still expected to play.*
23.	Damien Harris NE at NYJ Note: (Ankle) Limited at practice Thursday - keep in mind that this was the Pats' first practice of the week with them playing on Monday night. Limited practice all week, and is listed as questionable - one of 17 Pats players listed as questionable this week.*

25.	*D'Andre Swift DET at MIN Note: Swift lost snaps to Kerryon Johnson due to his problems in pass protection last week, which in turn cost him a red zone target that Johnson turned into a touchdown.

27.	*Ronald Jones TB vs. NO Note: Jones fumbled on the Bucs' second possession after making a tough catch, getting hit as he got up from his knees. After that, he took a backseat to Leonard Fournette, who got the vast majority of snaps afterward.
28.	JaMycal Hasty SF vs. GB Note: Hasty had more carries than McKinnon and scored a touchdown, but also had a fumble that was originally ruled as recovered by Seattle, but was overturned because the defender was out of bounds when he first touched it. I think that Hasty will be the primary ballcarrier and McKinnon the pass-catching back. Austin Walter has been activated from the practice squad to be the third back.*
29.	Jordan Wilkins IND vs. BAL Note: Wilkins had a whopping 20 carries and a touchdown, running better than Jonathan Taylor last week against the Lions. Full participant Thursday after being limited Wednesday.*
30.	*Devin Singletary BUF vs. SEA Note: Singletary had a near-even workload with Moss, but Moss is the one that scored twice.
31.	Wayne Gallman NYG at WAS Note: Gallman led the Giants in carries and scored a rushing TD, but had to split the work with Alfred Morris (who has reverted back to the practice squad, for now) and Dion Lewis. Set for another start with Freeman declared out.*
32.	Jonathan Taylor IND vs. BAL Note: Taylor is dealing with 'a bit of an ankle injury' and was less productive than both Jordan Wilkins and Nyheim Hines in the win over the Lions. Full participant in Thursday's walk-through.*
33.	Travis Homer SEA at BUF Note: Did not practice Wednesday, but is expected to play again this week.*
