Arizona Cardinals RB Roles
Team: Arizona Cardinals
Last Update:   4/27/2024
RB Overview
Role Security: Very High
04/27/24 James Conner is expected to dominate work on early downs as well as in the red zone. In the 2024 draft, Arizona selected Trey Benson. Benson is a powerful inside runner with some receiving ability. It's likely Benson is the change-of-pace for Conner. Michael Carter ended the 2023 season as the primary backup, which included work on passing downs. If Benson is unable to help on passing downs, Carter could see his most work when the Cardinals are in their hurry-up offense. Emari Demercado appears set to enter camp as the No.4 RB.
WR Overview
04/27/24 Marvin Harrison was selected with the fourth pick in the 2024 draft. Harrison should immedately step into the lead receiving role. Michael Wilson is the favorite to line up as a starter across from Harrison. Wilson should play in a full-time role. Greg Dortch and Chris Moore currently are likely in competition for the lead slot role. Based on his experience with the team, Dortch could have the lead for the No. 3 role heading into training camp.
TE Overview
04/27/24 Trey McBride is the lead TE and is expected to play a full-time role. Elijah Higgins and rookie Tip Reiman could see occasional snaps, though not many targets should be expected for the backups..
