Mainz keen to retain him
FFSV Mainz 05
June 14, 2020
Mainz want to keep Awoniyi for another season after his current loan deal expires, Kunle Fayiga of Goal.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The information comes from none other than Mainz's manager, Rouven Schroder, who said the club are in talks to keep the 22-year-old Nigerian, who has been on loan at the Bundesliga side since last summer, for one more season. He doesn't figure to have much of a role for Liverpool ahead of the 2020-21 season, so perhaps another loan move would be the best scenario for all parties involved.
