Returns to Miami
Berrios signed a one-year contract worth up to $3 million with the Dolphins on Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPNreports.
ANALYSIS
Berrios tallied just seven receptions for 44 yards over the Dolphins' final nine contests, which is surprising given he played at minimum 40 percent of the offensive snaps in every contest. Expect the veteran to primarily be the team's return man once again, a role that allowed him to tally 676 total return yards last season.

Returning to college city with Fins
The deal Berrios signed with the Dolphins on Friday sees him return to the city where he played his college ball with the Hurricanes from 2014 to 2017.
ANALYSIS
Berrios played a modest role with the Hurricanes until his senior season, when he produced a 54-670-9 line across 12 games. His pro career then started in quiet fashion as well after being selected by the Patriots in the sixth round in 2018, but the 27-year-old eventually produced 83 receptions for 825 yards and five touchdowns over the 2020 and 2021 campaigns with the Jets. His numbers from scrimmage did fall off last season, but he'll be in line to benefit from plenty of 1-on-1 coverage in coach Mike McDaniel's creative offense thanks to a pair of elite position mates in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

Berrios, a 2018 sixth-round pick of the Patriots who logged all 65 of his career appearances with the Jets, now remains in the AFC East as a depth pass-catcher for the Dolphins. Miami lacks a solidified No. 3 receiver behind superstars Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, so that spot could be Berrios' to win if he can beat out Cedrick Wilson and Robbie Chosen, both of whom could also boast upside in the slot. It shouldn't be overlooked that Berrios is a more than capable return man, and a potential favorite to handle the majority of both punt and kick take-backs.
