2024 Fantasy Outlook
Davis became the prototype for a "best-ball only" receiver during his time in Buffalo, taking it to comical heights last season when he had five games with at least 87 yards and a touchdown and five others with no catches at all. In the end, a 45-747-7 receiving line was quite similar to what he'd done the year before (48-836-7), putting Davis on the free-agent market as a mid-range No. 2 receiver. The Jags gave him a three-year, $39 million contract with $24 million guaranteed -- shortly before watching Calvin Ridley slip away -- and then added another deep threat (LSU WR Brian Thomas) with the 23rd overall pick. Any notion of Davis taking on a much larger target share after switching teams can probably be put to rust, unless Thomas is a total bust or Christian Kirk misses a lot of time (actually, Davis might need BOTH of those things to happen, considering the Jags have TE Evan Engram and RB Travis Etienne locked in as major parts of the offense as well). Davis might not be quite as boom-or-bust as he was in Buffalo, but he'll probably still fit best as a bye-week replacement or a mid-round pick for best-ball-scoring formats. Read Past Outlooks

Still working back from injury
Coach Doug Pederson said Friday that Davis (knee) is dealing an injury and hasn't been able to do much on-field work since signing with the Jaguars, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.
ANALYSIS
Pederson said Davis, who missed the playoffs last season due to a knee injury suffered Week 18 against the Dolphins, continues to recover several months into the offseason, adding the Jaguars' wide receiver picture will become clearer in OTAs. It doesn't sound like there's any real concern about Davis' availability, but fantasy managers would certainly prefer to hear he gets back on the field and starts establishing a rapport with Trevor Lawrence sooner rather than later. Even with both Calvin Ridley and Zay Jones no longer in Jacksonville, Christian Kirk and rookie first-round pick Brian Thomas represent significant competition for target volume.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Potential target for Browns
Kevin Patra of NFL.com believes that the Browns should make acquiring a WR2 like Davis to pair with Amari Cooper a priority for the 2024 offseason.
ANALYSIS
The Browns managed to capture the fifth seed in the AFC despite All-Pro running back Nick Chubb tearing his ACL and MCL in Week 2 and quarterback Deshaun Watson fracturing his shoulder midway through the season. However, outside of Cooper and tight end David Njoku late in the season, there wasn't much help from the wide receiving corps. Davis didn't have the breakout season Bills fans were hoping for, but he did finish with 45 catches for 746 yards and seven touchdowns while operating as the WR2 behind Stefon Diggs. Entering the 2024 offseason as a free agent, a change of scenery for Davis could be what he needs to reach that next level of play.

Davis was the subject of endless debate last summer after throwing up 201 yards and four touchdowns in a playoff loss to Kansas City at the end of the previous season. He's always been efficient with his targets, making an argument for more looks, but he only got halfway there in 2022 as Stefon Diggs continued his dominance of the Buffalo passing game. Davis had receiving lines of 4-88-1 and 3-171-2 within the first five weeks, yet finished at a modest 48-836-7 on 93 targets in 15 games. While a fourth-year breakout can't entirely be ruled out given that he's still the No. 2 receiver in a prolific offense and has shown plenty of big-play ability, it's harder to get excited about Davis this time around after he failed to build on the fast start last year.
