Sudfeld (knee) re-signed with the Lions on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Sudfeld missed all of last season after suffering a torn ACL in a preseason game against the Panthers. Though Jared Goff's top backup from 2023, Teddy Bridgewater, has since retired, Sudfeld may still find himself as the No. 3 option on the depth chart in 2024 behind Goff and 2023 third-round draft pick Hendon Hooker.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Likely to open as Detroit's QB2
Sudfeld is likely to open the season as Detroit's primary backup quarterback behind Jared Goff, according to Colton Pouncy of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
The Lions also have rookie third-round pick Hendon Hooker in addition to Goff and Sudfeld, but Hooker is recovering from a torn ACL. The Lions have already stated they intend to use this season as a redshirt year for Hooker, so Sudfeld could maintain the No. 2 spot even after Hooker comes back. If Hooker is placed on the non-football injury list, he wouldn't take up a roster spot to begin the year and would need to sit out at least the first four games of the season.
