2024 Fantasy Outlook
Winn made his big-league debut last year at age 25 and mostly performed well, tallying 35 strikeouts against only eight walks in five starts and four relief appearances covering 42.1 innings. But when opposing hitters made contact, it was generally hard contact, and his 4.68 ERA tells the story more accurately than his 1.04 WHIP. He had a 4.08 ERA in 108 innings between Low-A, High-A and Double-A in 2022 and a 4.81 ERA in 58 innings with Triple-A Sacramento in 2023. His command might have miraculously improved and maybe Keaton will be the rare pitcher who performs better in the majors than he ever did in the minors, but the Giants aren't guaranteeing him a rotation spot out of the gate in 2024 and the right-hander can mostly be ignored on draft day in standard fantasy formats. Could skip rehab start
Winn (forearm) could bypass a rehab start and return from the 15-day injured list this week to join the San Francisco rotation, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
ANALYSIS
Winn remains tentatively scheduled for a rehab start with Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, but the Giants might need to expedite his return to the majors with Blake Snell exiting his start in Sunday's 7-5 loss to the Yankees with groin tightness and likely to land on the injured list. Snell's next turn comes up Saturday in Texas, though it's possible Winn is brought back to start earlier than that. Because Winn isn't fully stretched out yet and hasn't pitched since May 14, fantasy managers would be best off keeping him benched this week if the Giants elect to activate him.

Chance to enter rotation?
Winn could join the Giants' rotation with Alex Cobb being placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday with an oblique injury, per Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.
ANALYSIS
Winn has worked in long relief for San Francisco twice in the past week, and he's pitched well with just two runs allowed across nine innings. The 25-year-old hasn't been as successful for Triple-A Sacramento this year with a 4.35 ERA in 12 outings, which could prompt the Giants to keep him in a bullpen role.
