2025 Fantasy Outlook
Bowers is the consensus No. 1 fantasy tight end, following a debut campaign with the most receptions by a rookie in NFL history (112) and a rookie-TE record of 1,194 receiving yards. Both totals led NFL tight ends in 2024, as did Bowers’ 153 targets. That production came despite the 4-13 Raiders having some of the worst QB play in the NFL from a combination of Gardner Minshew, Aidan O’Connell and Desmond Ridder. Vegas will have better QB play after trading for Geno Smith, who lacks proven pass catchers beyond Bowers and WR Jakobi Meyers. Bowers may nonetheless have a hard time matching last year’s target volume after the Raiders hired running-game aficionado Chip Kelly as their offensive coordinator. Still, there’s potential for more touchdowns and big plays if the offense improves. The upgrade at quarterback may help Bowers break the trend of sophomore slumps among exceptional rookie tight ends— the previous six TEs with 800+ yards as rookies all saw their yardage totals decline by at least 158 yards the following season. Knee - PCL
October 12, 2025
Bowers (knee), who has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Titans, is considered unlikely to be available for the Raiders' Week 7 contest at Kansas City, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Since sustaining a bone bruise and PCL injury in his knee in the Raiders' Week 1 win over the Patriots, Bowers had been noticeably slowed by the issue over Las Vegas' subsequent three contests before he ended up sitting out this past Sunday's 40-6 loss to the Colts. Since Bowers needs rest to fully move past the injury, he was held out of all three Week 6 practices before being ruled out two days in advance of the matchup with Tennessee. Pelissero notes that the Raiders plan to give Bowers "a chance" to play next Sunday against the Chiefs if his knee is feeling better than anticipated after two weeks off from playing in games, but Las Vegas "wants to be smart" with the star tight end before its bye in Week 8. With that in mind, fantasy managers should prepare to have another option available at tight end in place of Bowers until at least Week 9.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Bowers is the best tight end prospect since Kyle Pitts in 2021, and arguably a more complete player. In fact, Bowers looked NFL-ready as a true freshman back in 2021, catching 56 passes for 882 yards and 13 TDs for the national champs. He finished his Georgia career with 26 receiving touchdowns and five more on the ground, deployed as a primary weapon in a way that's almost unheard of for college tight ends. Bowers also was praised for his effort as a blocker, though he was listed at just 230 pounds for most of his college career and weighed 243 at the 2024 Combine. A hamstring injury prevented the 6-foot-3 tight end from doing pre-draft workouts and perhaps creates some doubt about the relevance of his bulked-up weight at the combine, but that wasn't enough to deter the Raiders when Bowers was available at No. 13 overall. Vegas isn't the best locale for immediate fantasy value, as the Raiders have Gardner Minshew and Aidan O'Connell at quarterback and drafted 6-foot-4, 265-pound TE Michael Mayer in the second round last year. Bowers is much faster than Mayer and should immediately be one of the best tight ends at gaining yards after the catch, but it's nonetheless possible the rookie cedes some valuable snaps to the second-year pro. Young tight ends traditionally need a year or two to marinate anyway, though similarly talented players like Pitts (1,026 yards in 2021) and Sam LaPorta (10 TDs in 2023) have bucked that trend of late with big rookie seasons.

Sitting out second straight
TELas Vegas Raiders
October 10, 2025
Bowers has been ruled out for Sunday's Week 6 matchup against the Titans due to his knee injury, Ryan McFadden of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bowers hadn't missed a game in his career before his Week 5 absence against the Colts, but he remained sidelined from practice altogether this past week and is "not quite there yet" with his PCL injury and bone bruise, per head coach Pete Carroll. Bowers' absence against Tennessee will lead to a spot start for Michael Mayer, who was unavailable in Week 5 himself due to a concussion.
