2025 Fantasy Outlook
Sutton had a breakthrough of sorts in 2023 with 10 TDs (on 90 targets) after scoring 14 times in his first 65 career games, only it didn't seem to carry over to 2024 as his first seven games featured just 277 yards and two TDs. He bottomed out with a zero-target game Week 7 at New Orleans, but somehow that became a launch point for the most productive stretch of his career. Sutton bounced back with consecutive 100-yard performances Weeks 8-9 and recorded at least 10 PPR points and six targets in each subsequent game, averaging 6.0 catches for 80.4 yards and 0.6 TDs on 8.8 targets over his final 10 games of the regular season. That's WR1 fantasy production, buoyed by Bo Nix's rapid progress (after a poor September) and Sean Payton's commitment to getting Sutton the ball. The 6-foot-4 wideout finally looked like the same player we'd seen prior to his ACL tear in Sept. 2020, topping 1,000 yards for the first time since 2019. Sutton will turn 30 in October and was never a burner even pre-surgery, but he's more agile than most other big WRs and highly adept at finding holes in zone coverages or outmuscling defenders downfield one-on-one. He's also in a good situation, with Nix already proven as at least a competent starting QB -- possibly much more -- and Denver's other wide receivers largely being small, fast players that aren't likely to take on many of the intermediate targets and jump balls on which Sutton thrives. Touchdown grab in Week 1
Sutton recorded six receptions on nine targets for 61 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-12 win over the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Sutton was unsurprisingly Bo Nix's favorite target and led the Broncos in targets, receptions and yards. Sutton accounted for the majority of his production on a leaping, contested 22-yard touchdown catch just before halftime. He chipped in two additional receptions that went for double-digit gains to get his 2025 campaign off to a solid start.

Sutton still hasn't come close to matching his career-high 1,112 receiving in 2019, his second pro season, but 2023 at least was his best year since suffering an ACL tear Week 1 of 2020. While targeted slightly less often than in 2021 and 2022, the 6-4 wideout scored TDs on 10 of his 59 receptions in 2023 and had a career-high 65.6 percent catch rate along with 8.6 YPT (his best mark since 2019). Russell Wilson's second season with the Broncos, while not exactly impressive, represented the highest quality of QB play Sutton has experienced since the team drafted him 40th overall in 2018. The ACL tear interrupted what looked like a standard progression for a highly regarded prospect -- 704 yards as a rookie, 1,112 in Year 2 -- and the QB carousel in Denver hasn't done Sutton any favors. He'll enter his age-28 season with another new Week 1 starter under center, be it first-round pick Bo Nix or sketchy veteran Jarrett Stidham. The good news, in addition to Sutton playing better last year, is that target competition looks weak after the Broncos dealt Jerry Jeudy to the Browns and replaced him with Josh Reynolds (career high of 618 yards) and fourth-round pick Troy Franklin. Touchdown regression is a given and per-target efficiency a challenge, but Sutton might be able to make up for it -- at least partially -- if he ventures north of triple-digit targets after drawing only 90 last year.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Still optimism for extension
Sutton and the Broncos could still reach an agreement for a contract extension prior to the 2025 season, Nick Kosmider of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The Broncos reportedly weren't willing to negotiate an extension with Sutton prior to the NFL Draft, but the wide receiver suggested some progress has been made since. Sutton has been present at offseason practices and likely would have opted out of the activities without some optimism a new deal will get done. He had a resurgent 2024 season and has quickly developed rapport with second-year quarterback Bo Nix, giving the Broncos plenty of reasons to keep Sutton on the roster.
