2025 Fantasy Outlook
Goedert has consistently been a low-end fantasy starter, averaging between 42.3 and 58.5 yards per game each of the past five seasons. He was right in the middle last year, with 49.6 ypg, though his season totals (42 catches for 496 yards and two TDs) look underwhelming because hamstring and knee injuries cost him seven games. It was his fifth straight year with multiple missed games, but his first time missing more than five. Goedert has spent his entire seven-year career with the Eagles, maxing out at 87 targets (2019), 830 yards (2021) and five TDs (2019) while catching at least two-thirds of his targets every year and earning about half his yardage after the catch. He'll again be the third receiving option behind WRs A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith in a run-first offense, with a good setup for per-target efficiency but not much chance of averaging more than 5-6 targets per game or getting regular goal-line looks. Two short TDs in win
Goedert brought in all four targets for 37 yards and two touchdowns in the Eagles' 31-25 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Goedert tied for the team lead in receptions with Saquon Barkley while setting the pace in receiving yards, and he was also on the receiving end of both of Jalen Hurts' scoring tosses. Each of the touchdown grabs was unconventional, with Goedert first crossing the goal line on a nifty two-yard underhand pass from Hurts in the first quarter and then finding the paint again on a second-quarter shovel pass from five yards out. Goedert is on a bit of a scoring surge with three total touchdown catches in the last two games, and he could be busy again in Week 5 at home against a Broncos team that could force Hurts to get the ball out quickly.

Goedert set a career high with 59 catches last year and was four targets short of his previous best, despite missing three games with a fractured forearm. It didn't amount to much for fantasy purposes, as he averaged a career-low 10.0 yards per catch while seeing his aDOT (5.3) drop for a second straight year and his YAC average (5.3) go down by 1.9 yards compared to the previous season. A lack of big plays left Goedert with his fewest total yards (592) since 2020 and his worst per-game average (42.3) since 2019. The 6-foot-5 tight end scored exactly three touchdowns for a third time in the past four seasons, while QB Jalen Hurts had double-digit rushing TDs for the third consecutive season and threw 14 of his 23 passing scores to A.J. Brown or DeVonta Smith. It's certainly possible Goedert's efficiency rebounds this year, but he may also drop down another notch on Philadelphia's volume totem pole with dual-threat RB Saquon Barkley joining the offense.

Focused on Super Bowl title
Goedert, who agreed to a reworked contract with the Eagles in May, says the possibility of winning another Super Bowl in Philadelphia convinced him to return, Nick Shook of NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Goedert was able to capture his first Super Bowl title last season, and he noted he didn't want to miss the opportunity to try and win a second consecutive championship with the team that drafted him in 2018. The veteran tight end added that he has "a lot of love" for the city and every component of the Eagles organization before also expressing optimism that new offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo will be successful in replacing the departed Kellen Moore.
