Emeka Egbuka

22-Year-Old Wide ReceiverWR
2025 Fantasy Outlook
For his long-term projection, Egbuka did well to land in Tampa Bay with the 19th overall pick, joining a franchise with a solid quarterback and a strong recent track record of success and production. Egbuka's Year 1 fantasy projection is also on the up and up, with Chris Godwin (ankle) missing all of training camp and Jalen McMillan (neck) expected to miss at least the first month of the regular season. Like his new teammates in Tampa's talented WR room, Egbuka is no burner, having run a 4.45 40 at his pro day after averaging 14.0 yards per catch on a school-record 205 receptions at Ohio State, where he played more than two-thirds of his snaps from the slot. At 6-foot-1, 202, Egbuka won't necessarily be limited to the slot in the NFL, potentially offering inside-out versatility (like Godwin). Reports from training camp had been glowing even before Godwin's prolonged absence and McMillan's injury gave Egbuka a clearer path to the No. 2 WR role in Week 1. Read Past Outlooks

Commemorates debut with two TDs
WRTampa Bay Buccaneers
September 7, 2025
Egbuka brought in four of six targets for 67 yards and two touchdowns in the Buccaneers' 23-20 win over the Falcons on Sunday. He also rushed once for nine yards.
ANALYSIS
The rookie first-round pick had been ascendant since he first stepped on a Buccaneers practice field this offseason, and Egbuka delivered handsomely in his first career regular-season contest. The Ohio State product first struck from 30-yards out just past the midway point of the second quarter, and he subsequently added what would turn out to be a game-winning 25-yard scoring grab with just under a minute remaining. The poise and polish that Egbuka has repeatedly been commended for was on display on his way to a team-leading yardage total, and he'll be in line to play another significant role during a Week 2 marquee interconference road matchup against the Texans on Monday night, Sept. 15.

Serving as WR2 sans Godwin
WRTampa Bay Buccaneers
September 6, 2025
Egbuka will be the Buccaneers' WR2 behind Mike Evans against the Falcons on Sunday due to Chris Godwin being ruled out with an ankle injury, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Godwin is in the final stages of his recovery from a dislocated left ankle that he suffered in Week 7 of the 2024 season, but he's not quite ready to take the field for the Bucs. That paves the way for Egbuka -- Tampa Bay's first-round pick of the 2025 NFL Draft -- to step into a larger role in the passing game, especially with Jalen McMillan set to miss extended time while working through a neck injury. Egbuka drew praise from teammates and coaches during training camp, and his skillset puts him in a great spot to excel with Evans, Bucky Irving and Baker Mayfield in Tampa Bay's offense.
