Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Engram’s hoping a change of scenery from Jacksonville to Denver will help him bounce back from the worst of his eight NFL seasons. He had career highs of 114 catches and 963 yards in 2023, but hamstring and shoulder injuries limited him to nine games and 365 yards in 2024, with his season ending in December when he underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum. Engram's production lagged even when he was available, including a career-low 7.8 yards per catch and his second-worst mark for yards per game (40.6). Meanwhile, Denver's 72 passes to tight ends last season were third fewest in the NFL, reflecting the team's lack of a quality pass catcher at the position. Engram should provide a major upgrade on last year's group even though his prime likely is over, providing QB Bo Nix with a reliable target for short passes. A new team also means some chance of increased red-zone usage after seven straight years with four or fewer TDs, although the 6-foot-3, 240-pound TE plays more like an oversized slot receiver than a traditional big-bodied tight end. Engram may need a few more TDs to regain TE1 fantasy value, as he's highly unlikely to approach his outlier 2023 volume and hasn't averaged more than 10.6 yards per catch since 2018. Practicing fully
Engram (back) practiced fully Friday.
ANALYSIS
A back issue prevented Engram from practicing and playing in Week 3, but following full practices both Thursday and Friday, the tight end is poised to return to action Monday night against the Bengals. With just four catches (on six targets) for 33 yards in his first two games with the Broncos, the early returns on Engram aren't great, but assuming his back injury is no longer an issue, he's a player capable of picking up the pace, as soon as Monday. With that in mind, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com relays that Engram indicated Friday that he feels "great" ahead of Week 4 action, while, for his part, offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi told Stevens that he believes Engram will "be getting going here real soon."

Engram led all tight ends in both targets (143) and catches (114) last year, which helped him to a career high for receiving yards (963) in addition to those two aforementioned categories. The 6-foot-3, 240-pound tight end is one of the fastest players at his position and excels at getting open on short routes, but he's never been much of a downfield or red-zone threat like many of the league's larger tight ends. He hasn't scored more than four touchdowns in a season since he had six as a rookie in 2017, and his 10 red-zone targets last year were tied for 14th among tight ends. On a more positive note, the butter fingers that plagued Engram in New York haven’t followed him to Jacksonville, where he's dropped only eight of 241 targets through two years (though he fumbled three times last season). The Jaguars made big changes to their receiving corps in the offseason, but it's hard to say how that affects Engram, if at all, with Gabe Davis and rookie Brian Thomas replacing Calvin Ridley and Zay Jones. A healthier year from WR Christian Kirk might have more impact on Engram's volume given that both compete for short targets, whereas Davis and Thomas figure to run a lot of deep routes. Engram probably won't score many touchdowns or match last year's volume, but he's still a good bet to rank among the TE leaders in catches and targets, making him a solid starter for PPR formats.

Limited to begin Week 2
Engram was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's practice due to the calf injury he sustained in Week 1 against the Titans, per Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site.
ANALYSIS
Engram exited his Broncos debut after hurting his calf. It's encouraging that he wasn't held out completely to begin Week 2 prep, but Engram's status for Sunday's game against the Colts is still up in the air.
