Noah Brown

Noah Brown

29-Year-Old Wide ReceiverWR
Washington Commanders
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Brown had at least 453 receiving yards but no more than 567 in each of the past three seasons, starting 29 of 37 games for the Cowboys, Texans and Commanders. He re-signed with Washington on a one-year contract this offseason, after missing the final two months of last season with a kidney injury. Brown, 29, is unlikely to enter training camp as a starter, instead providing depth behind Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel. Even the No. 3 receiver role is no sure thing, with Luke McCaffrey, Jaylin Lane, Michael Gallup, K.J. Osborn and Chris Moore also around to compete for the job. Brown has size (6-foot-2, 225) and experience working in his favor, but he's unlikely to get many targets even if he ends up playing a lot. Read Past Outlooks

ANALYSIS
Brown didn't practice Wednesday after having been listed as limited on Washington's walk-through practice reports Monday and Tuesday, but the team simply appears to be following the same maintenance protocol that was required for the No. 3 receiver to suit up Week 1. He was targeted three times while playing 46 percent of offensive snaps during the Commanders' regular-season opener against the Giants, securing two of those targets for 27 yards. Brown looks set for a similar workload versus Green Bay, contributing at wide receiver behind top options Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel.

Brown showed signs of breaking out in 2022 while with the Cowboys. In that season, he posted 555 yards and three touchdowns. In his first year with the Texans, Brown had a wild season. Due to injuries, the receiver played two games through Week 7. In Weeks 8-10, Brown was on fire, averaging 5.3 catches and 127 yards. Another injury cost Brown two games.Upon his return, he had three games with fewer than 10 yards and one with 82 yards and a touchdown. The overall picture tells us that Brown is very talented but not very reliable. After the Texans traded for Stefon Diggs, Brown will be competing for the No. 4 role. As a result, he would need others to miss time to be viewed as a fantasy factor.
Brown posted career highs across the board during his fifth season in Dallas in 2022, including a significant upgrade in snaps. After the Cowboys traded Amari Cooper to Cleveland and lost Cedrick Wilson to the Dolphins, the 2017 seventh-rounder was presented his biggest opportunity as a pro, en route to finishing with 43 catches for 555 yards and three touchdowns over 16 games. Despite what can be perceived as a career year, the Cowboys didn't put up much resistance in letting him walk. Brown's production dropped off over the final stretch and had just seven catches over the last three regular season games and two playoff contests. With Houston, Brown's experience could work in his favor in a mostly inexperienced wideout room.
Selected in the seventh round of the 2017 Draft, Brown has gone from a project to a dependable depth option in the Cowboys offense and a key special teams contributor. The Ohio State product had the best game of his career Week 12 of last season, catching six of nine targets for 53 yards, but most weeks he wasn't a factor as a receiver. Even with Amari Cooper gone and Michael Gallup recovering from a torn ACL, Brown may not see his role change significantly in 2022.
A seventh-round pick in 2017, Brown is still only 25 years old and took a small step forward in his development last season, suiting up for all 16 games and handling a big role on special teams while twice reaching 40 receiving yards in a game despite being buried on the depth chart. It would take a rash of injuries for him to move up the ladder, but Brown seems set in his roster spot for at least one more season in Dallas.
Still only 23 years old, Brown has the size to be a red-zone asset but remains a developmental project for the Cowboys after catching only nine passes in his first two NFL seasons.
Brown saw limited action as a rookie, catching only four of nine passes for 33 yards. Still a raw project, the 22-year-old has some upside as a physical receiver and red-zone target and could help fill the void created by Dez Bryant's exit if he can hang onto a roster spot.
Brown's decision to leave Ohio State early caused him to fall to the seventh round in this year's draft, but he does have the size and physical presence to succeed in the NFL once his skills catch up to his athleticism. He's unlikely to see much action as a rookie, but given that he's essentially a Dez Bryant starter kit, Brown landed with the perfect team to help him develop.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Team's top available WR?
WRWashington Commanders
August 3, 2025
Brown may be the Commanders' top available wide receiver at the moment, as Commanders writer Ben Standig reports that Deebo Samuel injured his left hand while diving for a catch during Saturday's training camp practice.
ANALYSIS
Terry McLaurin is sidelined by an ankle injury and has also demanded a trade due to a contract impasse, so if Samuel also misses time, Brown could be next in line to work as the top wide receiver for quarterback Jayden Daniels. Despite playing in only 11 games during the 2024 regular season, Brown ranked third among Washington's wide receivers with 453 receiving yards, trailing McLaurin and Olamide Zaccheaus, who signed with the Bears in the offseason. Brown is participating in training camp after being carted off due to a non-contact injury during minicamp in June.
