2025 Fantasy Outlook
Drafted 28th overall last spring, Worthy had an odd rookie season that seemed equally defined by frequent TDs and near-misses. He had a rushing score and a receiving score in his NFL debut, immediately showing why the Chiefs took a shot on a 165-pound receiver with 4.21 speed, although it wasn't until Week 5 that he drew more than four targets in a game. Once Worthy saw more passes, each week seemed to include at least one or two plays where he was open for a big gain but either muffed the catch or Patrick Mahomes missed him. Their chemistry improved later, with Worthy catching 15 passes for 144 yards and two TDs in Weeks 16-17. Still, he finished the regular season with just six catches on 29 targets thrown 10-plus yards downfield, earning nearly all of his production on short throws and schemed touches. If you're a glass-half-full type, Worthy scored nine touchdowns (three rushing) and consistently led Kansas City's wideouts in playing time -- no small feat for one of the NFL's youngest players. The glass-half-full contingent grew considerably during the playoffs, when Worthy put up 5-45-0 (six targets), 6-85-1 (seven targets) and 8-157-2 (eight targets), the latter aided by a long TD in garbage time of the Super Bowl. The playoff outburst provides additional cause for optimism that Worthy can work in tandem with Rashee Rice to help return Kansas City's offense to where it was during Mahomes' first five seasons (2018-22) as a starter. When not injured or suspended, Rice represents tough competition for the short-area targets that Worthy made his living on for much of last season, while fellow wideout Marquise Brown is a threat to take deep looks. There's room for multiple pass catchers to thrive if the offense returns to elite status, but target competition becomes more of a concern for fantasy if KC's offense still looks like the 2022-23 version once both Rice and Worthy are playing. RANKS
Splash plays in return
Worthy recorded five receptions on eight targets for 83 yards in Sunday's 37-20 win over the Ravens. He added two rushes for 38 yards.
ANALYSIS
Worthy returned from a shoulder injury and was active for the first time since Week 1, and he quickly regained his role as Kansas City's top playmaker. He accounted for each of the team's three longest plays from scrimmage on gains ranging from 28 to 37 yards while being used in all areas of the field and on an end around. While Worthy did his damage on big plays, he also led the team in targets, indicating this level of production is sustainable as long as his shoulder holds up.

At 5-11, 165 pounds, Worthy becomes one of the thinnest wide receivers in the NFL, with a lower BMI than even DeVonta Smith or new teammate Marquise Brown. Everything else screams upside, including Worthy's prolific college career, combine-record 40 time (4.21) and first-rate team context as part of the Reid/Mahomes show. The speed demon put up 68-981-12 as an 18-year-old true freshman at Texas, and while he had a modest sophomore slump (60-760-9), he bounced back with 75-1,015-5 last season as the target leader for a team that just had three other pass catchers taken in the 2024 NFL Draft. Those target numbers were perhaps inflated by a large number of designed touches on screen passes, but Worthy's comfort level there could end up being a good thing under a screen-happy coordinator like Reid. 2023 second-round pick Rashee Rice nearly broke 1,000 yards last year with a screen-heavy diet and 4.7 aDOT, and it now appears he could miss a portion of 2024 due to legal troubles. If not, the target competition in Kansas City admittedly looks stellar, featuring Rice, Worthy and Brown at wide receiver and Travis Kelce at tight end. Worthy's college production hints at a quick learning curve, whereas his size and age (he turned 21 in April) suggest that might not be the case.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Return boosts KC offense
Worthy returned from a two-game absence due to a shoulder injury and helped propel Kansas City to a dominant 37-20 win over the Ravens on Sunday, Jesse Newell of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Worthy dislocated his right shoulder in Week 1, but he was cleared to return Sunday after practicing in full all week. His big-play ability was on full display against Baltimore, as he hauled in a 37-yard reception at the end of the first quarter and took an end-around 35 yards midway through the second. Worthy's presence opened up space in the passing game for fellow pass catchers JuJu Smith-Schuster, Travis Kelce and Hollywood Brown, each of whom recorded at least 36 receiving yards. Worthy ended his return with five catches on eight targets for 83 yards along with two carries for 38 yards.
