Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Koo made at least 86.5 percent of field-goal attempts in each of his first five seasons with the Falcons, before nosediving to 73.5 percent last year and then missing the final three weeks with a hip injury. He has two seasons remaining on his contract, but no guaranteed money, perhaps opening the door for competition. Koo will turn 31 in August, still prime age for a kicker, and his excellent track record before 2024 would make it easier to find a new home if the Falcons eventually move on. If he stays in Atlanta, he'll be kicking in a dome again, and potentially for a good team if QB Michael Penix turns out any good. Read Past Outlooks
Competing for starting role
Koo will compete with Jude McAtamney for the Giants' top place kicker spot ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Chargers, Evan Barnes of Newsday reports.
ANALYSIS
Though head coach Brian Daboll hasn't officially ruled out Graham Gano (groin) in Week 4, Gano is expected to be placed on injured reserve in the coming days. Thus, Koo will have the opportunity to compete for New York's top kicker position after being released by the Falcons on Sept. 19. The Georgia Southern product converted on 25 of his 34 field-goal tries and all 26 of his extra-point attempts in 2024 with Atlanta.

Koo is one of the best kickers in the NFL but typically hasn't gotten enough PAT volume to rank as one of the top fantasy options at this position. He's made at least 86.5 percent of his FG attempts each season since taking over as Atlanta's kicker midway through 2019, going 23-of-31 from 50-plus yards (74.2 percent) and 39-of-46 in the 40-to-49-yard range (84.8 percent). Kicking in a dome more than half the time helps, with the Falcons assured of at least nine indoor games each season between their home stadium and the annual visit to New Orleans. They're scheduled for 12 dome games in 2024, and with QB Kirk Cousins presumably improving the Atlanta offense, Koo should be one of the better kickers for fantasy.

Could face competition for job
Head coach Raheem Morris said Monday that the Falcons will work out some kickers this week after Koo missed a 44-yard field-goal attempt late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 23-20 loss to Tampa Bay, Josh Kendall of The Athletic reports. "You have to say [Koo is the kicker] right now, but we'll work out some veterans, we'll work out some up-and-comers," Morris said, highlighting Lenny Krieg, who is on Atlanta's practice squad, as a "developing prospect" for the team.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Job in jeopardy
Koo will likely face competition for the Falcons' kicking job this week, Josh Kendall of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The once-reliable kicker followed up a shaky 2024 season by missing a 44-yard field-goal attempt late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Buccaneers to begin the current campaign. "We have to bring a competitive edge. We have to go out there and look. We have to bring in people to compete. It definitely creates that sense of urgency," coach Raheem Morris said Morris. While Morris' comments suggest he's still more interested in sparking a return to form for Koo than replacing him, the 31-year-old appears to be on very thin ice in Atlanta.
