2025 Fantasy Outlook
Stallings enjoyed a resurgent season with Colorado in 2024 after being cut loose by Miami, and he re-signed with the Rockies for 2025. The veteran backstop had two putrid years with the Marlins, during which he posted a .576 OPS, but he rebounded with the Rockies last season and had a .263/.357/.453 slash line with nine home runs in 82 games. Surprisingly, he actually performed better on the road than at Coors Field with an .827 OPS and .795 OPS, respectively. Despite the strong numbers, Stallings is likely to begin 2025 in a timeshare behind the plate. He's entering his age-35 campaign, and prospect Drew Romo should receive plenty of opportunities after making his debut late last year. Stallings could have some appeal in NL-only leagues and as a streaming option, but he likely won't see enough volume to be viable in most formats. Read Past Outlooks

Getting day off
Stallings is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.
ANALYSIS
Stallings had started at catcher in four of the Rockies' last six games, with his surge in playing time coming shortly after Colorado placed Kris Bryant (back) on the injured list, which has allowed Hunter Goodman to see more starts at designated hitter. Goodman will be back behind the dish Wednesday, so Stallings will head to the bench while Nick Martini steps in as Colorado's DH.

The 2021 Gold Glove Award winner had spent much of the past two seasons in a near-even timeshare at catcher with Nick Fortes in Miami, but Stallings now finds himself as the clear No. 2 option in Colorado after signing a one-year deal with the club in January. He adds little with the bat, but could be an option in deeper formats since he plays his home games in Coors Field.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Decent trade value?
The Rockies could look to trade one of Stallings or Elias Diaz this summer, per Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post.
ANALYSIS
Stallings posted a sub-.600 OPS during his two years in Miami and latched on with Colorado on a one-year contract during the offseason. He's enjoyed a resurgence as the backup to Elias Diaz and has a .319/.400/.507 slash line in 25 games. Both Diaz and Stallings are on expiring contracts, so it would make sense for the Rockies to deal at least one of them ahead of the summer deadline.
