2025 Fantasy Outlook
Jimenez opened the season with Triple-A Buffalo where he posted a .847 OPS, fueled by a high .416 OBP. He was summoned in early July, appearing in 63 games over the final three months of the season. There were stretched where Jimenez was the regular shortstop and second baseman. His on base skills didn't translate to the bigs as he fanned almost twice as much while walking half as much as he did in the minors. With limited power, and even less speed, Jimenez needs to get on base to generate any fantasy goodness. He's still just 24 years old, so Jimenez can improve, but he still profiles best as a reserve infielder, capable of playing second base, third base and shortstop. Even so, until he shows he can get on base on a consistent basis, Jimenez isn't even in the AL-only mix. Read Past Outlooks

Triple-A Buffalo placed Jimenez on its 7-day injured list March 27 due to an unspecified injury.
ANALYSIS
Jimenez wasn't known to be nursing an injury during spring training before Toronto optioned the infielder to Triple-A on March 21. The 23-year-old slashed .229/.329/.358 over 210 plate appearances with Toronto in 2024, but he'll have to overcome the injury and will likely need to perform well for extended period at Triple-A before getting another look with the big club.

Prime opportunity for playing time
SSToronto Blue Jays  AAA
July 20, 2024
Jimenez is starting at shortstop Saturday against the Tigers and should have a regular role after Bo Bichette was placed on the injured list with a calf strain.
ANALYSIS
Jimenez saw some extra playing time ahead of the All-Star break after Bichette first suffered the injury, and Bichette aggravated the injury Friday versus Detroit. Jimenez has showcased his potential in his first nine big-league games, as he's gone 8-for-23 with two doubles, an RBI, four runs and a 3:6 BB:K. If he continues to perform well while Bichette is sidelined, Jimenez could force his way into the lineup down the stretch with the Blue Jays unlikely to be contending for a playoff spot.
