Shifted to minors camp
The Twins reassigned Dobnak to minor-league camp Wednesday, Brandon Warne of Access Twins reports.
ANALYSIS
Dobnak battled finger injuries for the majority of last season but still managed to pitch 20 innings at the Triple-A level, logging a 5.40 ERA and 1.70 WHIP while there. Luckily, his finger problems seem to have subsided over the offseason. He will return to Triple-A St. Paul to start the year and has a chance to return to the majors if he gets off to a strong start.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Rehab gets complicated
Dobnak is dealing with a finger injury and suffered a setback sometime in the last few weeks, according to Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
ANALYSIS
Dobnak's injury dates back to the end of last season, and with no further details regarding a potential return, it would be wise to consider him as out indefinitely. It's worth noting he missed most of the 2021 season with a strain in his middle right finger, so the short-term future does not look promising for the right-hander.

Dobnak signed a five-year, $9.25 million contract extension with Minnesota just before the 2021 season and looked set to be part of the starting rotation, but then had his career sidetracked due to a finger injury. Dobnak had ligaments called pulleys in his right middle finger rupture over the past two years which has led him to appear in just 30 games the past two seasons. Dobnak does not have great velocity, but generated ground balls at a high rate before his injury. His success was largely due to his sinker and he's had to modify due to the damaged finger. He'll need to re-establish himself at Triple-A before getting another shot at the majors and his damaged finger raises serious doubts he can reclaim his prior form.

Dobnak's oft-injured finger has been pain-free all winter, and he's been throwing bullpen sessions without issue, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. "I think we're way over the hump now. I've been down here for a month. I threw live Friday, that was probably my 10th bullpen," Dobnak said. "I've been slinging it fine."
