Daniels isn't the flashiest young player in the league, but he has settled into a quality rotation role for the contending Pelicans, averaging 21.8 minutes across 47 appearances, 14 of which were starts. The 20-year-old is averaging 8.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.8 steals as a starter this season, although his primary contributions come via defensive versatility with his 6-foot-6 frame.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
After spending 2021-22 with G League Ignite, Daniels heard his name called with the eighth overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft by the Pelicans. Daniels' Summer League action lasted just one game before an ankle injury sidelined him for the remainder of it, with him tallying just a point, two assists, a rebound and a steal over eight minutes before his departure. Daniels fared much better in the G League last season, compiling 11.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.0 steals over 31.6 minutes per tilt. While his overall attempts from the field (10.2 per game) weren't particularly poor in terms of efficiency (45.3 percent), he still needs to pick it up and improve on his outside shooting, where Daniels connected on just 30.0 percent of his tries. Daniels figures to log some minutes off the bench but doesn't figure to be a huge factor as a rookie. Managers in dynasty and keeper formats should be the primary people targeting the rookie.
