Unlike others who also declared for the 2025 NBA Draft, McNeeley is expected to forgo all his collegiate eligibility (three years and a redshirt) beforehand. While enrolled at Connecticut, he won the Big East Freshman of the Year Award. For 27 games (26 starts), McNeeley averaged 14.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.9 turnovers. The freshman's most recognizable flaw is shot inefficiency, which includes his 38.1 field goal percentage and 31.7 three-point percentage, both below-average rates. However, McNeeley also logged an 86.6 free-throw percentage, and the limited efficiency is not so bad that he drops far beyond a lottery selection.
