2024 Fantasy Outlook
The Alabama program has undergone plenty of changes this offseason, but Milroe remains a constant and is key to the Tide's transition into the post-Saban era. Milroe is somewhat unfairly dinged for his passing - he averaged 10.0 YPA with a 65 percent completion rate in his first year as the starter last season. Adding Kalen DeBoer, the architect of Washington's run to the national title game, should only help that facet of his game. Milroe's also devastating as a runner. His speed and 6-2, 220-pound frame punished opposing defenses for 12 rushing touchdowns and over 500 yards on the ground. There's another level Milroe can potentially reach as a passer in the new offense, and his rushing production will provide him with a solid floor for fantasy. He may not have the upside of some of the other elite quarterbacks in the SEC, but there's too much working in Milroe's favor for him to burn his fantasy investors. Read Past Outlooks

Moving on to pro ranks
Milroe announced Thursday via his personal Instagram account that he will forgo a fifth season of eligibility at Alabama to enter the 2025 NFL Draft.
ANALYSIS
Milroe enters the draft after spending the better part of the past two seasons as Alabama's starting quarterback. In those seaons, he threw for a combined 5,678 yards, 39 touchdowns and 17 interceptions while rushing for 1,257 yards and 32 touchdowns. While he didn't lead Alabama to any postseason glory, losing to Michigan in two straight bowl games, he had his signature moments during his time as Alabama's signal-caller. He's being viewed as a borderline first-round pick in many mock drafts as he jostles for positioning behind the clear top options in Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Bryce Young has taken his talents to the NFL, leaving a massive void under center for the Tide. Jalen Milroe will likely get first crack at the job and has off-the-charts athleticism, though he has battled accuracy and turnover issues during his brief stints on the field. He threw just 53 passes last season, completing 58.5-percent of his throws, though averaged 8.5 yards per tote on the ground. The Alabama offense would likely look more like it did under the direction of Jalen Hurts than what it looked like with Bryce Young if Milroe ends up winning the spot. His chief competition will be redshirt freshman Ty Simpson, who threw just five passes a season ago. Simpson is a capable athlete but is also considered a polished passer; the latter trait could be his ticket to potentially outshining Milroe. However, it would appear that Milroe would have the inside track for the starting slot at this juncture. Four-star freshmen Eli Holstein and Dylan Lonergan could also see some reps, but are unlikely to be serious contenders to start Alabama’s season opener against Middle Tennessee State.
