2024 Fantasy Outlook
Badgley was the Chargers' kicker from 2018 to 2020, then bounced around to four different teams in 2021 and 2022, eventually landing in Detroit where he subsequently spent most of 2023 on the practice squad. He finally got another chance late in 2023, replacing a struggling Riley Patterson in Week 15 and making all seven of his field-goal attempts (plus 24 of 26 PATs) across four regular-season games and three playoff appearances. Badgley now looks like the favorite to kick for Detroit in 2024, though the team likely will bring in some competition. He'll likely be more PAT-dependent than other kickers if he locks down the job, as Dan Campbell has regularly been one of the league's more aggressive coaches in going for fourth downs. Re-signs with Lions
Badgley is re-signing with the Lions on a one-year contract, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Badgley spent much of 2023 on Detroit's practice squad before eventually replacing a struggling Riley Patterson for the final four games of the regular season and the playoffs. Badgley converted each of his seven field-goal attempts and 24 of 26 PATs after taking over, but he'll likely have to compete with Patterson or another kicker to win the job in 2024.

Hoping to stick with Titans
Badgley had an uneven first day of practice with the Titans, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Badgley was let go by the Commanders over the weekend, though it didn't take long for him to find a new team. His first day of practice with Tennessee didn't go particularly well, as he missed three of his 10 attempts from between 29 and 48 yards. Coach Mike Vrabel said Badgley is getting the chance to win the job, but he also noted that the team will continue to look at other available options.

2021
2020
2019
Badgley had a nice run as the Chargers' placekicker in 2018 and 2019 before a poor 2020 sent him on a journey from Indianapolis to Tennessee to Chicago to Detroit. It was at the last destination where he thrived, and he re-signed this offseason after going 20-for-24 on field-goal tries and 33-for-33 on PATs in 12 games last year. However, the Lions cut him a few months later, electing instead for a battle between Riley Patterson and John Parker Romo. Badgley's career FG conversion rate of 81.7 percent screams mediocre -- and his 5-of-13 record from 50-plus yards worse than that -- but he's on track to enter Week 1 as the Titans' kicker after signing with them Aug. 22.
