2025 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
An awful lot went wrong for Pittman in 2024, including but not limited to Anthony Richardson's inability to complete passes. Josh Downs' emergence was also a small factor, with the second-year slot man drawing just four fewer targets than Pittman in two fewer games, and then there was the matter of playing through a back injury from Week 5 onward. There was even discussion of placing Pittman on IR or shutting him down, yet he ended up closing out the season with 181 yards in Weeks 17-18 while catching passes from Joe Flacco. Believed to have avoided offseason surgery, Pittman will again be part of a WR room that has three other Day 2 picks (he was a second-rounder in 2020), joined by Downs, Alec Pierce and Adonai Mitchell. The last two may not matter much for Pittman's volume, but Downs almost certainly does, considering both tend to thrive in short/intermediate areas. There were plenty of targets for both when Flacco was under center last year... and not enough targets for either when Richardson got the nod. Richardson won't ever be a favorable QB for possession-receiver production even if he improves drastically, which means the best-case scenario for Pittman's fantasy value would probably be another lost season for the Colts in general, with Daniel Jones throwing a bunch of short passes for a subpar team the way Flacco did last year. RANKS
Fully healed from back injury
Pittman (back) said Tuesday that he didn't need surgery to address the small fracture in his back he played through in 2024, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS
The wideout expressed confidence that his rehab work has been sufficient to get past his back injury, per James Boyd of The Athletic. Last year, Pittman reported pain in training camp but managed to suit up for 16 regular-season games. The 27-year-old said that he's already had the opportunity to work out with new quarterback Daniel Jones, though Pittman's schedule hasn't yet overlapped with that of Anthony Richardson (back), Boyd reports. Jones and Richardson will have an open competition for the starting role, but whoever wins the starting gig, Pittman, Alec Pierce and Josh Downs will be positioned to headline Indianapolis' wide receiver corps.

2020
A 2020 second-round pick, Pittman has improved upon his totals for targets and receptions with each passing season, establishing himself as one of the league's better possession receivers whilst dealing with subpar QB play. The best he's seen was the final year of Philip Rivers' career, at which point Pittman was a rookie and only the No. 3 receiver behind T.Y. Hilton and Zach Pascal. While he's been the clear No. 1 for Indianapolis ever since, Pittman has been saddled with Carson Wentz, a brutal final season from Matt Ryan and then Gardner Minshew last year. Anthony Richardson might end up being miles better than all those guys after an injury-marred rookie year, but even if he is, it doesn't guarantee Pittman will improve his production. What might happen instead is Pittman improving his efficiency but losing volume, as an offense with Richardson and RB Jonathan Taylor presumably will have a lot of rush attempts. At 6-4, 223, with 4.52 speed, Pittman is perhaps better suited to his familiar possession role in any case, while rookie second-round pick Adonai Mitchell can work as more of a field-stretcher. 2023 third-round pick Josh Downs is the wild card, potentially impacting Pittman's dominant share of short targets.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Won't need offseason surgery
Pittman isn't expected to need surgery this offseason to address the fracture in his back, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS
The 27-year-old wideout played through the injury for most of the season, and while Pittman was still able to suit up for 16 games, his 69 catches for 808 yards and three touchdowns were his worst numbers since his rookie campaign in 2020. The Colts' issues at quarterback may have contributed to his lack of production as much as the back injury, however. Pittman still has two years left on his current contract, but even if he's healthy in 2025, he'll likely need Anthony Richardson to take a big step forward with his development to post another 1,000-yard season.
