2024 Fantasy Outlook
Moss' career seemed to burn out in Buffalo, but once he got to Indianapolis the former Utah standout and 2020 third-round pick started to look more like the player the Bills thought they were drafting. In Moss' 22 games with Indianapolis, he turned 259 carries into 1,159 yards (4.5 YPC), adding 31 receptions for 204 yards and two scores on 42 targets. Injuries have struck Moss in each of his four NFL seasons, and he had knee concerns even when he was at Utah in college, so he might have season-long volume limitations despite his power-back aesthetic. On the other hand, Moss is a three-down back in terms of skill set -- he's comfortable catching passes or blocking -- and doesn't need to rotate out for strategic reasons. It's not clear how much leeway Moss' two-year, $8 million contract might earn him over second-year back Chase Brown, but it seems likely that the Bengals will need to call upon both runners over the course of 2024. RANKS
Clear second fiddle again Sunday
Moss rushed five times for 11 yards and secured all four targets for 28 yards in the Bengals' 37-17 loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Moss was seven carries behind backfield mate Chase Brown, although he was more involved in the passing game than the latter. Moss's reception total tied for his second highest of the season, and he now has a 7-61 line through the air on seven targets over the last two games. Moss projects for another hard-to-trust complementary role during a Week 9 home matchup against the Raiders.

Moss will compete with rookie fifth-round pick Evan Hull and Deon Jackson for the privilege of backing up Jonathan Taylor this season. Moss entered training camp as the favorite as both the incumbent and the player with greater draft pedigree -- a 2020 third-round pick -- but he's now uncertain for Week 1 after suffering a broken arm at the end of July. Furthermore, Hull is no pushover and has plenty of pass-catching experience after serving as the workhorse at Northwestern. Moss did much better in his eight-game audition with Indianapolis last year than he did in the two prior seasons with Buffalo, playing well in a four-game stint as starter following Taylor's season-ending ankle injury, and it's worth remembering that Moss was probably a better player at Utah than Hull was at Northwestern. That said, Hull is faster and quicker than Moss, which could lead to a co-backup sort of situation.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Avoids serious injury
Moss sustained an ankle injury in Sunday's overtime loss to the Ravens, but the running back isn't expected to miss any time, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
He sat out the entire OT period after getting his ankle twisted in an awkward manner late in the fourth quarter, but Moss seems to have avoided any issues that might sideline him for a Week 6 contest against the Giants. Chase Brown, who has gotten at least 15 touches in each of the last two games, is likely to see his role continue to grow in the Cincinnati backfield, however.
