While much of the attention will be on Macklin Celebrini, Smith also figures to be a key rookie for the Sharks in 2024-25. Smith's playmaking is his best trait after he racked up 25 goals and 46 assists in 41 appearances for Boston College as a freshman last season. The 19-year-old was selected fourth overall in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, so Smith has plenty of pedigree as a prospect.
