Debut scheduled
Wellmaker will fight Cameron Saaiman at UFC Kansas City on April 26, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Wellmaker secured a UFC contract in August after defeating Adam Bramhald via KO, and his first test in the promotion will come against Saaiman, who is struggling after dropping each of his last two fights. Wellmaker, on the other hand, is undefeated eight fights into his professional career and holds a 4.5-inch reach advantage over Saaiman.

First-round KO earns contract
Wellmaker defeated Adam Bramhald via KO (punch) at 2:29 of Round 1 at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. After the show, he was one of four fighters to earn a UFC contract.
ANALYSIS
Wellmaker is borderline prospect status for the bantamweight division at the age of 30, but he doesn't have a ton of MMA miles on him, as he previously put together a 7-0-0 record on the regional scene. He made quick work of his opponent here as roughly a (-260) betting favorite, connecting with leg kicks early and getting a takedown stuffed before finding the finishing blow. It was a fantastic knockout for the highlight reel, and with little damage absorbed here, he should be ready for his official debut in short order.
