Suffers embarrassing submission loss in Phoenix
Light HeavyweightPFL
January 15, 2017
Pesta lost to Alexey Oleinik via submission (Ezekiel choke) at 2:57 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night 103 on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Losing by Ezekiel choke in MMA is bad enough, but Pesta got subbed while throwing strikes from full mount. Oleinik can be seen setting up the choke while Pesta is sliding into mount, which may explain why the 51-fight veteran gave up the position so easily. Pesta came into the UFC on a 9-0 start to his MMA career, but has now lost four of his first five fights in the organization (three by stoppage). It would hardly be surprising if Pesta was handed his walking papers after the latest defeat.

Viktor Pesta: Gasses out badly, loses to Derrick Lewis at UFC 192
Light HeavyweightPFL
October 3, 2015
Pesta lost to Derrick Lewis via TKO at 1:15 of Round 3 at UFC 192 on Saturday in Houston.
ANALYSIS
Pesta can blame this loss on his poor cardio. He was firmly in control in the first and early part of the second round, but he ran out of energy and ended up allowing Lewis to mount him and finish off the fight. The terrible gas job doesn't bode well for Pesta's future. His wrestling game was on point Saturday, but that was about it.
