2024 Projections
Should be 100 percent for camp
Joseph (hip) -- who won't take part in practices this spring -- expects to be fully healthy by the start of training camp, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Joseph underwent an offseason procedure to address a hip injury that originally occurred in Week 2 of the 2023 campaign. Though he returned to play after missing two contests en route to logging 82 tackles and four picks in 15 regular-season outings overall, the issue evidently lingered to the point that it required attention following the postseason. Once he's back to 100 percent, Joseph will reprise his starting free safety role with the Lions.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Has '23 breakout potential
Joseph has a chance to be even better in 2023 based on his strong rookie season and offseason performances, Colton Pouncy of The Athletic suggests.
ANALYSIS
A 2022 third-round pick, Joseph stood out as a rookie while playing in all 17 games. The Illinois product finished with 83 tackles, four interceptions, another four pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Pouncy opines an even more productive 2023 could be in the works thanks to Joseph's range, instincts and stellar performance in last month's minicamp.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
Joseph had a good rookie season but now has more competition for snaps after the Lions added C.J. Gardner-Johnson and two other reputable cornerbacks to help Tracy Walker lead the secondary. And that was before also spending a 2023 second-round pick on safety Brian Branch. Considering Joseph didn't see a play on defense last season until after Walker tore his Achilles in Week 3, this influx of talent at defensive back seems to pose a big threat towards Joseph continuing to log 100 percent of the snaps on a game-by-game basis this year.
