2025 Fantasy Outlook
Standout rookie campaigns from Brock Bowers and Sam LaPorta suggest the TE learning curve in the NFL may be accelerating. While not quite on Bowers' level as a prospect, Warren heads to the league backed by similar draft capital (14th overall) after catching 104 passes for 1,233 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior at Penn State. He was a late bloomer, however, posting a 34-422-7 receiving line as a 21-year-old junior in 2023 after catching only 15 passes total in two prior seasons (while competing for snaps with future NFL draft picks Brenton Strange and Theo Johnson). Warren didn't go through pre-draft testing, but film shows that he moves well for someone whose measurements (6-foot-6, 256 pounds) are reminiscent of a blocking specialist more so than a receiving threat. The Nittany Lions even gave him trick plays and direct snaps last season, with 26 carries yielding 218 yards and four TDs. Warren thus profiles as an after-the-catch threat, in addition to using his huge frame to beat defenses down the seams and in the end zone. His short-term outlook is somewhat less promising in Indianapolis, where Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones are competing for the starting QB job in an offense that has two WRs, Michael Pittman and Josh Downs, capable of handling considerable target volume. Could have versatile offensive role
Colts offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter said Friday that Warren is being prepped for a versatile role in the team's offense, per NFL.com. "We're going to try a bunch of different stuff with him, give him a bunch of shots at a bunch of different aspects playing offensive football," Cooter stated.
ANALYSIS
It comes as no surprise that Indianapolis wants to take advantage of Warren's versatile skill set, as he not only tallied 1,233 yards and 11 touchdowns through the air in his final college season but also recorded 218 rushing yards and four scores on 26 carries. The 6-foot-5 tight end has had "a lot on his plate" during training camp, according to Cooter, and he's already lined up in the backfield on some plays. Any regular-season work Warren gets as a ball carrier can only help his fantasy value, though he's plenty capable of being a top tight end from the get-go based solely on his talent as a pass catcher. In terms of that role, Warren has experienced some drops early in camp but also made what head coach Shane Steichen called "an incredible catch" Thursday night, reaching out for the football with one hand and securing it while falling down.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Targeted often in OTAs and minicamp
Warren has been heavily involved throughout OTAs and minicamp, per Stephen Holder of ESPN.com.
ANALYSIS
Holder believes any questions about whether Warren will play a prominent role out of the gate have been answered based on all the touches he accumulated in practice. Warren caught passes from Daniel Jones, who complimented the rookie first-round pick's instincts, strength and ability to meet the ball on catches. Jones and Anthony Richardson are set to compete for the starting quarterback job when the Colts begin training camp in July, but Richardson missed minicamp due to a shoulder injury.
