2024 Fantasy Outlook
Gray posted nearly identical stats in 2022 and 2023, going from 28 catches for 299 receiving yards and two scrimmage touchdowns to 28 catches for 305 yards and two touchdowns. Gray played at least 47 percent of snaps in all but four games last season, but Travis Kelce got the vast majority of targets at tight end. The 2023 season opener was the only game in which Patrick Mahomes played but Kelce didn’t, and while Gray set a career high with five targets in that game, his three catches for 31 yards were nothing to write home about. Gray’s best path to fantasy relevance would be a Kelce injury, but even in that scenario, it’s unclear whether Gray has the pass catching skills to be more than a supporting piece in a Kansas City offense that beefed up its receiving corps in the offseason and added tight end Jared Wiley in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Leading receiver on four targets
Gray brought in all four of his targets for 66 yards in Sunday's 28-18 win over the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Gray finished as the Chiefs' leading receiver in an odd game that featured no passing touchdowns from either side. San Francisco keyed its defensive focus on limiting star tight end Travis Kelce (4-17-0), allowing the 25-year-old Gray to operate freely for his highest receiving total of the season. Fantasy managers should consider this a high-water mark for Gray so long as Kelce remains healthy, which the latter should be for next Sunday's tilt against the Raiders.

2021
The Chiefs selected Gray in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL draft, hoping to develop him into Travis Kelce's heir at the tight end position. After a quiet first season with only seven grabs for 36 yards and a score, Gray upped his production in his second pro campaign, reeling in 28 passes for 299 yards and a single score. The 24-year-old enters the coming season in a similar situation, still working in a complementary role behind Kelce. In that context, Gray is unlikely to garner much fantasy interest outside of some dynasty formats, but he could move on to the radar should Kelce miss time.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could help fill in for Rice
Speaking to reporters Wednesday, Patrick Mahomes said Gray is among the players he expects to step up while Rashee Rice is sidelined by a knee injury, per Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com. "You'll see guys like JuJu [Smith-Schuster] and Justin Watson and Noah Gray and really a lot of guys that are going to come in and make plays," Mahomes said.
ANALYSIS
It makes sense that Mahomes highlighted some of the team's other wide receivers as candidates for larger roles while Rice recovers from a knee injury that's expected to carry a multi-week absence if not end his season. Gray's name being thrown in there is more surprising, but it hints at the possibility of Kansas City running more heavy sets with both Travis Kelce and Gray on the field. Through four weeks, Gray is fourth on the team with 90 receiving yards, trailing Rice, Kelce and Xavier Worthy.
